Katarina Maslačak (meaning dandelion in serbian), born in Belgrade, Serbia, on august 8th, 1988. These, just numbers, played a big role in my upbringing, in the rural part of the city, and by very devoted parents.

 

Finished medical school of Belgrade as a nurse in 2007 and started attending Philosophical Faculty of Belgrade University for the next 10 years, without pursuing the degree. After 42 passed courses and only 2 to finish I chickened out. I studied archaeology to get answers on past questions, not to build a career.

 

Started drawing (read: procrastinate) in middle of exams in 2010,  in simple Paint program. Single shaky drawing, of a woman with a circle instead of the head (instantly named Kiki), changed my world forever, as I finally saw my true reflection.

Images displayed here, represent the hidden, unconscious messages, signals and symbols of, and for, one Katarina Maslačak. They are merely a tool of self realization and served their purpose to the perfection since they first sprout from my mind about 8 years ago.

​

You will notice that, imperfect, unfinished lines and circles, as well as the visible coloring mistakes , have not evolved through these eight years, and that my style is one of a child; That is because there was no point in sugar-coating the purpose. As soon as I get the message, the image is done, out and gone.
